2 days in da nang vietnam

After an exciting time in Ho Chi Minh City, we caught a flight to Da Nang, which was a short 1 hour and 20-minute trip. With two days to explore, our first destination was Chùa Linh Ứng Pagoda, followed by the famous Golden Bridge in Ba Na Hills. Here’s what we experienced during our two-day Da Nang adventure!

On our first evening in Da Nang, despite arriving later than expected, we managed to visit Chùa Linh Ứng Pagoda, a large and serene temple nestled on the Son Tra Peninsula. The pagoda stands as a spiritual beacon with a unique blend of traditional Vietnamese and modern architecture, offering panoramic views of Da Nang’s coastline and city lights.

What stood out?
The peaceful surroundings combined with the breathtaking view of the sea and city below created an atmosphere of tranquility. The massive statue of Quan Am, standing tall against the skyline, is the most iconic feature. As night fell, the pagoda’s illuminated structures looked even more majestic. However, I must admit, the quietness and grandeur of the place at night gave it an eerie yet fascinating vibe!

What makes Chua Linh Ung special?

1. Stunning Views:
Perched on a hill, the pagoda offers a perfect spot to enjoy the coastline and the bustling city from a distance. The peaceful environment makes it ideal for reflection.

2. Architectural Beauty:
The pagoda’s design is captivating, with intricate carvings and details reflecting Vietnam’s rich culture. Every corner seemed to tell a story—blending ancient and modern elements harmoniously.

3. Cultural Significance:
Locals visit the pagoda for prayers and blessings, adding to the spiritual experience. I felt deeply connected to the place as I watched people quietly offer their prayers, making the visit even more meaningful.

Best Time to Visit:

  • Early Morning: Arriving at sunrise is magical, with the soft morning light gently illuminating the statue of Quan Am.
  • Late Afternoon: Visiting at sunset offers stunning views as the sky transforms into a warm, colorful canvas. This time also provides a great opportunity to capture memorable photos.

Best Months to Visit: February-April and September-November are perfect as the weather is pleasant and the skies are clear.

How to Get There:

  • Location: Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Da Nang, Vietnam
  • Coordinates: 16.0672° N, 108.2465° E

It’s a short 20-30 minute ride from the city center. You can grab a taxi or, if you’re feeling adventurous, rent a motorbike. The drive along the coast is absolutely breathtaking!

Cost:
Visiting Chùa Linh Ứng Pagoda is free! However, if you wish to make donations or offerings, those are optional costs.

Day 2 in Da Nang: Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

The next day, we rose early and headed to Ba Na Hills, home to one of Vietnam’s most famous attractions, the Golden Bridge. At 6 AM, we booked a Grab taxi, which took around 15-20 minutes to reach the site.
