If you are bored of the city, roads, buildings, etc., of Phnom Penh and miss the village environment very much, then Silk Production is for you. Let’s go to the village near the city of Phnom Penh. We have to go to Koh Dach Mekong Island.
Location
So, for that, you have to book a car to this island. From your hotel, simply book a car by explaining properly about this island. On the way to this island, your car has to pass the river by a big boat. Your car will also go with you by boat. During the crossing, you can go to the top of the boat and sit there to enjoy the wind of the river with a beautiful view. It’s a short way to cross. After crossing the river, you are in the village area.

Silk Production House
First, you will go to the real silk production house which is located there. They are very friendly to foreigners. There, you will get many products for female wear and also can have shawls of real silk for men. You can also check how they actually make this silk with their day and night effort. This is very real to feel.
Visit Silk Island
After that, you can go to the park where you can explore all of the natural items from which the silk is made. On the way to this park, you will explore a great view of the village and the smell of real land. There, you can explore the A to Z system of natural products. There is also a restaurant. You may have some drinks or food, but the price there is very expensive compared to other places in the city.

Cost of Entrance
You’ll be happy to know that there is no cost to visit the Silk Production House. However, there is a fee to visit Silk Island. Since I haven’t been there, I’m not sure of the exact entrance fee.

In this era, manual silk production houses are very rare. This is indeed a unique opportunity, as today’s children mostly learn about it through books. You can visit to experience it firsthand, and it’s a great outing for your family and kids to experience as well. Another special attraction is the village area, which offers a relaxing atmosphere. You might feel as if you are in a quaint village abroad.
