We woke up very early in the morning and had breakfast at the hotel. The car was waiting outside for us as we embarked on our new trip to Pahalgam, often referred to as MINI SWITZERLAND. Along the way to Pahalgam, we visited two wonderful places called Kesar Land and Apple Valley. Let’s explore Kesar Land & Apple Valley together.
Visit Apple Valley
Apple Valley is a field where apple trees grow abundantly, and during the season, many apples are naturally available.
Although it was March and the apples weren’t in season, we could still see the apple trees, and there was one more thing available.
Real Apple Juice Flavor
Freshly pressed apple juice. We tried it, and it was truly delicious. Near Apple Valley, there was a small shop where a boy was manually extracting apple juice using an aluminium mechanical juice machine. We also met some local children who were good at communicating with foreigners.
Kesar Land in Kashmir
Kesar, also known as saffron, is very popular in Kashmir and is grown only in specific regions, including Kashmir. Saffron looks like a flower when it’s in the field and is collected from the flowers after drying. It undergoes several processes, and its health benefits are significant; you can learn more about it by searching online.
Buy Authentic Kesar Items
Although we couldn’t visit the saffron fields physically but we explored from a distance and visited a local saffron shop nearby. The shopkeeper spoke excellent English and explained everything about saffron, although we regret to say that we’ve forgotten some of the details.
At the shop, we purchased various items made from saffron, including perfume (Ator), tea, original saffron strands, oil, face wash, and face cream.
After this visit, we continued our journey to Pahalgam.
