Delhi’s Lotus Temple | Half-day Trip

After I travelled to Vietnam, I planned a trip to a dream destination called Kashmir for an 8-day trip, correct, Kashmir in India. Let’s Apply for E-visa. We started from Lotus Temple.

It’s often considered a honeymoon destination, but I am single. So, can’t I travel there? Of course I can. 😂 So, my single colleague and I planned to go there. The best time to visit Kashmir is December to February when there are high chances of snowfall, which is very interesting. March is also okay, but there’s only a 10% chance of snowfall.

March also offers sunshine during the day, which helps to keep warm. I realized this after arriving there. So, let’s explore Kashmir together!

Destination Planning

1. Phnom Penh to Delhi to Taj Mahal, Agra
2. Delhi to Srinagar
3. Srinagar to Kolkata
4. Kolkata to Phnom Penh

Clothing and Essentials

We mostly kept warm clothes with us because Kashmir is icy. For Delhi and Calcutta, we brought along some soft fabric clothes because both of these cities are hot in March, along with a music speaker.

Phnom Penh to Delhi

We had a flight to Delhi at 9 pm, but unfortunately, the THAI AIR flight got delayed and didn’t take off until 8 am the next day. It was a very disappointing moment for us because we missed the trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Upon reaching Delhi, we checked into a hotel for the day since the Taj Mahal trip was cancelled. In the afternoon, we visited a popular place in Delhi known as the Lotus Temple.

Exploring the Lotus Temple

This architectural marvel is characterized by its striking lotus flower shape, with 27 marble-clad “petals” arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides. Visitors from around the world come to admire its serene ambiance and architectural beauty.

Upon arrival by taxi, we entered the temple free of charge. The natural surroundings around the temple were beautiful, with clean, fresh air and the sweet sounds of birds.

Despite being busy in the afternoon, the environment was pleasant. Inside the temple, we saw some people praying who were related to the Hindu religion.

Let’s Try Indian Street Food

Afterward, we stepped outside and indulged in some of the best street food items, including Chole Bhature, Pani Puri/Gol Gappe, Samosas, and Chaat. They were all incredibly delicious, and I highly recommend trying them all.

Later, we returned to the hotel and had dinner before retiring early because we had a flight to Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, the next day.

So, that's all. It was a very wonderful moment of my life. If you guys think that I need to explain more or if you have any questions, put them in the comments below. Thanks for being with me.
