I decided to skip the chaos of Bangkok’s traffic and head straight to Pattaya for a relaxing beachside getaway. Here’s a glimpse into my thrilling 3-day adventure in Pattaya!
Day 1: Terminal 21
My first day was all about unwinding. After checking into my hotel and grabbing lunch, I headed to Terminal 21, a famous mall in Pattaya. This place is a treat for the eyes, featuring an airplane structure and designs reminiscent of terminals from around the world, like Singapore and the USA.
The mall’s vibrant decorations drew me in as I explored shops filled with reasonably priced products. Right outside, a lively local market buzzed with energy, showcasing dances, local foods, fruits, drinks, and various stalls. I spent the afternoon snapping photos and picking up some dresses before heading back to the hotel for a relaxing evening.
Location: 456, 456/1 Moo 12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi 20150. Terminal 21 is just a short stroll from Pattaya Beach, perfect for a beachside stroll or some relaxation. Google map
Getting There: You can easily hop on a bus or take a taxi right to the mall’s entrance.
Cost: The mall isn’t expensive. While brand shops maintain standard prices, local stalls offer great deals!
Day 2: Skydiving and Nightlife
The Thrill of Skydiving
Day two kicked off with my most thrilling experience: skydiving! After some early-morning research, I found a reputable agency and was all set for my leap. The adrenaline rush was indescribable, and the views were breathtaking!
Afternoon at the Beach
After skydiving, I returned to the hotel to rest for an hour, then headed to Pattaya Beach. I soaked in the sun, enjoyed the sound of the waves, and sipped on fresh coconut water—it was pure bliss!
Late Night at Walking Street
As the sun set, I made my way to Walking Street, the heart of Pattaya’s nightlife. The atmosphere was electric with music and dance performances. I strolled through the bustling street, but when hunger struck, I ducked into McDonald’s for a quick dinner before returning to my hotel.
Perfect Timing: For the best experience at Walking Street, visit between 7 PM and midnight when it’s most lively. Weekdays are quieter, and the best weather is from November to March.
Day 3: Animal Encounters and Floating Markets
Tiger Park Adventure
My morning started with a visit to Tiger Park, where I had the unique opportunity to get close to these majestic animals. I opted for a medium-sized tiger encounter for 700 Baht. I got to pet the tiger under careful supervision, which was thrilling yet safe as long as I followed the caretaker’s instructions.
Cost: The price varies depending on the tiger size you choose.
Perfect Timing: Mornings, especially around 8 AM, are ideal for a visit. The tigers are more active, and it’s cooler outside.
The Floating Market
Next, I explored the Pattaya Floating Market. The vibrant atmosphere was full of vendors selling their goods from boats. I recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon for a more relaxed experience.
Cost: Entry is around 800 Baht per person, which includes a boat ride and refreshments. The shopping is affordable, and you might even catch some local dance performances.
Recommendation: If you’re short on time, consider skipping the market—it’s enjoyable but not must-see.
Final Thoughts
Pattaya truly offers a unique vibe that sets it apart from other destinations in Thailand. I felt safe throughout my visit, though it’s essential to be cautious in certain situations.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-day adventure in Pattaya and am now ready for my next destination: Chiang Rai! I’ll be driving to Suvarnabhumi Airport, BKK, to catch my flight. Stay tuned for more explorations!
