Your 6-Day Quick Travel Guide to Vietnam

I’m excited to finally share the highlights of my 6-day travel experience in Vietnam with you! After a hectic work schedule in Cambodia, this trip was the perfect escape, and I hope it inspires your own adventure. Let’s jump right into it!

Visa Processing

As a Bangladeshi citizen, I needed a visa for Vietnam. I applied through an agent in Cambodia who charged $200 for a 6-month, multiple-entry visa. The process took 15 days. If you’re in Cambodia and want an easy way to apply, feel free to reach out to me for the agent’s details.

For those of you applying on your own, you can also check the Thai Electronic Visa website if you’re staying in Thailand or elsewhere and need an e-visa.

Pack the Bag

Here’s what I packed for 6 days of travel:

  • Clothes: 4 t-shirts, pants (short & long), 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of socks, and shorts.
  • Personal Items: Brush, shampoo, conditioner, mini umbrella, 5 bottles of body spray, wipes, and sanitizer.
  • Skincare Products: Sunscreen, toner, face serum, and hair serum.
  • Essentials: Passport, charger, earbuds, and my JBL speaker for some beachside tunes.

Planning is key to making the most of your trip! Here’s my 6-day itinerary:

  • Morning: Check into the hotel, rest, and freshen up.
  • Afternoon: Explore the city with a bus tour.

  • Afternoon: Visit Chùa Linh Ứng Pagoda.
  • Evening: Stroll along the nearest beach and have dinner.

D-6: Bach Long Glass Bridge

  • Morning & Afternoon: Visit the breathtaking Bạch Long glass bridge.
  • Evening: Relax at your hotel after a full day of adventure.

Day 7: Sapa (Optional)

I originally planned to visit Sapa, but unfortunately, I fell sick and had to return to Phnom Penh. I’m saving that for another trip!

Flights & Hotels

Flight Bookings:

  • Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City
  • Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang
  • Da Nang to Hanoi
  • Hanoi to Phnom Penh

I booked all my flights through Trip.com and used the Bolt and Grab apps for transportation.

Hotel Bookings:

  • Ho Chi Minh City: 1 Night
  • Da Nang: 2 Nights
  • Hanoi: 3 Nights

Book your flights and hotels at least 15 days in advance to secure the best deals!

Keeping the Cash

I brought $2,000 in cash to exchange at the airport in Vietnam. Although I had my international Visa card, many ATMs and card machines charged a fee—usually between 2% and 5%. So, it’s always a good idea to carry cash or check in advance whether your card will work without fees.

That’s a wrap on my 6-day travel experience in Vietnam! If you’re planning a trip soon, feel free to follow my blog for more tips and updates. Vietnam is a beautiful country, and I hope this guide helps you make the most of your visit!
